I started CrossFit on February 28, 2011. I was getting ready to run the Big Sur Relay race. I wanted to increase my endurance. I started with CrossFit’s 4 week On Ramp class and at the end of week 4 I feel in LOVE with the sport. It has made me a stronger person inside and out. I’ve met so many new people and have a fabulous new Family at Yuba City CrossFit.
In the past I would go to a gym and try to figure out what I was going to do once I got there. Running on the treadmill, riding the elliptical and taking aerobics class were boring. I got burned out of the same old thing time after time and I was just wasting money on a gym membership I didn’t even use. Then I found CrossFit. I absolutely LOVE the fact that my workouts are already programmed. This is a sigh of relief that its different daily and you can always expect to be challenged. I love the fact that you always have a coach present and you’re never alone.
CrossFit has challenged me from Day 1 and I started feeling stronger and more fit every week. I have been able to work up from a 15 lb kettlebell to a 35 lb kettlebell . I see myself as an athlete. I love to challenge myself physically and truly enjoy working out. Since joining CrossFit, I have run some 5K races, and competed in a couple CrossFit competitions.
I AM CrossFit’s Biggest Fan! I have attended Nor Car Regionals, CrossFit Open Live Announcements and I’m going to The CrossFit Games for the 3rd time as a spectator of course. This is my sport I LOVE it with all my heart. No one can take away the people I’ve met, the photos I have and the tons of money I’ve spent. I LOVE Yuba City CrossFit, their coaches and all the other athlete’s at Our Box! Oh…YES! I’m Abbey Sloulin’s Biggest Fan. LOL
